Every summer for our entire childhood, my sister Emily and I got to spend the entire summer with our aunt Lorraine in Florida. She lived only two blocks from the beach, and we had the best time. Lorraine was so awesome. She was my mom’s youngest sister, so she wasn’t that much older than us, while still being a “wise adult” that we could talk to about everything. She had so many interesting friends, and a cute little house with a big yard, and three dogs! Emily and I weren’t able to have dogs growing up because Dad is allergic. Our folks liked it when we went there for the summer, too, because it gave them time to travel without us kids. So it was great for everyone. Now that I’m Lorraine’s age, I’m on the market for Rosemary Beach FL real estate. I’m going to buy a vacation house there, and want to retire there some day. For now, Emily’s kids can come stay with me near the beach. We miss you, aunt Lorraine!

When my husband came home from work and announced to our family that he had quit his job I was a little on edge. I just could not for the life of me understand why he would go and do a thing like that. I guess that you could say my husband has always been pretty unpredictable. He tends to take things with a grain of salt when he should be a lot more serious. Well, I guess everything will turn out alright because he says he has a really good job offer somewhere else. I immediately started to look at the Chapel Hill real estate scene to see if we could get an inexpensive home in the area. We also need to keep in mind that we want to live in a really nice school system. I hope everything works out and he makes a lot of money over there.
